Traditional baati with a twist

Cheesy fried baati

Ingredients to make Cheesy fried baati

  • For outer covering
  • 1 cup refined flour
  • 1/4 spoon salt
  • 1 pinch carom seeds
  • 2 spoon oil
  • water as per requirement
  • For stuffing
  • 100 gram cottage cheese
  • 50 gram boiled peas
  • 1/4 spoon salt
  • 1 onion
  • 1 spoon butter
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 spoon oil
  • 3/4 spoon pizza seasoning
  • 1/4 spoon red chilli powder
  • 1 spoon tonato sauce
  • 1/2 spoon soya sauce
  • Cheese
  • oil for frying

How to make Cheesy fried baati

  1. Mix all ingredients of outer covering and knead a soft dough
  2. Finely chop onion and garlic in a chopper
  3. Heat 1 spoon oil in a wok and add onion garlic
  4. Saute until soften
  5. Cut cottage cheese in small cubes
  6. Add cottage cheese and peas into onion
  7. Add other ingredients except cheese
  8. Mix well and let it cool
  9. When stuffing is on room temperature grate cheese over it and mix well
  10. Devide the dough into lemon sized balls and spread with fingers
  11. Stuff 1 spoon stuffing and make a Ball
  12. Flatten gently between palms
  13. Deep fry in hot oil
  14. Serve with sauce
