Turkish Lamb Kofte

Ingredients to make Turkish Lamb Kofte

  • 500 grams Minced lamb/beef
  • 1 Medium onion, grated
  • 2 cloves Garlic crushed
  • 1 pinch of Allspice (I always add a generous sprinkling, so adjust quantity as per your taste)
  • 1 pinch of Freshly ground black pepper (Adjust as per spice tolerance)
  • 1 pinch of chilli flakes (Adjust as per spice tolerance)
  • 1 pinch of Sweet/ regular paprika
  • 1 pinch of Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • Freshly chopped parsley

How to make Turkish Lamb Kofte

  1. Mix all the ingredients together with your hands, kneading until smooth.
  2. Wet your hands and roll walnut-sized pieces of mixture into balls. Flatten them slightly.
  3. Fry the kofte on a lightly oiled chargrill pan, for a few minutes on each side till cooked through.
  4. You can also cook these meatballs in the oven at 180 degree Celsius till they are cooked through and browned.
