ABOUT Aalu chilra RECIPE

A plain potato dish, preferred for children and old people especially. Well everyone can have it!

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Potatoes 500gram
  2. Gram flour 400gram
  3. Water as per requirement
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Chilli powder 2tbsp
  6. Green chilli (finely chopped) 5-8pcs
  7. Ajwain 1tbsp
  8. Oil 100ml

Instructions

  1. Measure all the ingredients as per the recipe.
  2. Grate the unbolied potatoes after pealing the skin and soak it in cold water.
  3. In another bowl add the gram floor, ajwain, salt, chilli powder and water and mix well to avoid lump formation.
  4. Now immerse the grated potatoes after removing water into the gram flour mix.
  5. Heat the pan and put some oil.
  6. Pour a big spoon of batter and flatten it to thin texture to have a crispy chilra.
  7. Keep cooking till brownish colour is obtained.
  8. It is ready to be served. Provide ketchup if needed.
