Ingredients to make Rasam

  • Boiled Toor daal blended with tomatoes 1 cup
  • oil 2 tsp
  • cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • curry leaves 5
  • Slit green chilli 2
  • Rasam powder 2 tsp
  • turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 2 tsp
  • hing pinch
  • salt to taste
  • tamarind water 1 cup
  • water 2 cups
  • For rasam powder
  • Toor daal 1 tsp
  • coriander seeds 1 tsp
  • cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Black pepper 1 tsp
  • curry leaves few
  • garlic pods 7
  • Dry red chilli 6

How to make Rasam

  1. HEAT 2 TSP OIL,1 TSP EACH CUMIN AND MUSTARD SEEDS,CURRY LEAVES,2 GREEN CHILLI,2 TSP RASAMPOWDER
  2. NOW ADD 1 TSP TURMERIC POWDER,2 TSP RED CHILLI POWDER,LITTLE HING
  3. MIX WELL AND COOK FOR 2 MIN
  4. NIW ADD 1 CUP BOILED TOORDAAL BLENDED WITH 2 TOMATOES
  5. ADD 1 CUP TAMARIND WATER AND BOIL FOR 10 MIN
  6. ADD MORE WATER IF REQUIRED AND BOIL ..SERVE HOT WITH RICE,WADA, IDLY
