This simple, healthy desert tantalises our taste buds with its awesome taste and unique flavour. This recipe is best suited to serve as evening snack or in breakfast too.

Chakka Ada

Ingredients to make Chakka Ada

  • Ripe Jackruit - 20 nos
  • jaggery - 1 cup
  • Grated coconut - 3 tbsp
  • ghee - 1 tbsp
  • Dry ginger/ saunth powder - 1/2 tsp
  • rice - 1/2 cup
  • salt- 1/4 tsp
  • banana leaves - 10, cut into small size

How to make Chakka Ada

  1. TAKE DESEEDED JACKFRUITS IN MIXER JAR.
  2. PULSE THEM TO MAKE COARSE PUREE
  3. MELT 1 CUP JAGGERY, REMOVE DIRT, BOIL TO 1 STRING CONSISTENCY
  4. HEAT 1 TBSP GHEE, ADD 3 TBSP GRATED COCONUT
  5. ROAST TILL NICE AROMA EMITS
  6. ADD JACKFRUIT PUREE, SAUTE FOR A MINUTE
  7. ADD JAGGERY SYRUP, MIX WELL
  8. SAUTE TILL IT THICKENS, ADD SAUNTH POWDER, MIX WELL
  9. TAKE 1/2 CUP SOAKED RICE IN MIXER JAR
  10. ADD SALT, GRIND TO A FINE BATTER
  11. WILT BANANA LEAVES OVER FLAME
  12. SPREAD 1 TBSP OF RICE BATTER ON BANANA LEAF
  13. PLACE 1 TBSP OF STUFFING , FOLD THE LEAF AS SHOWN
  14. SHOWING THE FOLDING METHOD AGAIN
  15. PLACE IT CAREFULLY IN STEAMER/COOKER
  16. STEAM THEM FOR 10 MINUTES
  17. GENTLY UNWRAP THE PARCELS
