Dhokla with rice and chana dal no fruit salt and soda

Ingredients Serving: 7

  1. 2cup chana dal
  2. 1cup rice
  3. Salt as per taste
  4. Water
  5. 2 table spoon Oil
  6. 1tspSesame seeds
  7. 7-9Curry leaf
  8. 2 red chillies
  9. 2 green chillies
  10. 1tsp Mustard seeds
  11. 2 tsp Sugar
  12. 2 table spoon Lemon juice


  1. Soak chana dal and rice for 3-4 hours
  2. Now add soaked rice and chana dal in blender and make fine paste
  3. Now empty it in a bowl and add 6-7 fengruek seeds form better fermantaion
  4. Keep it in hot place for 5-6 hours or over night for fermantaion
  5. Now remove fenugreek seeds from better and add salt as per taste
  6. Now take a steamer apply oil in plate and add the dhokla batter
  7. Let it cook for 8-10 min
  8. Check it by a knife if it come clear it is cooked and if not than cook for another 3-5 min
  9. Now prepare tadka with sesame seeds mustard seeds curry leaf and chillies and let then crackle
  10. Add lemon sugar with 2-3 spoon water and add this in tadka
  11. Add tadka in dhokla
  12. Let it cool down
  13. Now cut it and surve it with chutney or curd
