Tinda Aaloo masala

Ingredients to make Tinda Aaloo masala

  • 6 medium sized Tindas, fresh
  • 2 medium size potatoes
  • 3-medium size tomatoes
  • 1 tspn ginger paste
  • 1 tspn red chillies pwder
  • 1/2 tspn zeera powder
  • 1/4tspn garam masala
  • 1/2 tspn aamchur/mango powder
  • 1 tspn salt to taste
  • 1 medium spoon desi ghee

How to make Tinda Aaloo masala

  1. Peel tindas and potatoes.
  2. Wash cut potatoes into halves and tindas do not fully chop but make cross cuts.
  3. Grind or grate tomatoes .
  4. Paste ginger or grate a piece of ginger.
  5. Add the ginger to tomatoes.
  6. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker.
  7. Add grated tomatoes, ginger mixed paste and saute on slow.
  8. Now stuff the Tinda and potatoes with dry powder masalas and salt.
  9. Mix and apply this dry masala a little to potatoes and fill into the Tindas too.
  10. Now place these carefully in the tomatoes ginger paste add 1/2 cup water.
  11. Pressure cook for ten minutes.
  12. Serve hot with phulka or parathas.

My Tip:

This can be done in a covered pan too, on slow.
