ABOUT Bharva Tinda Masala RECIPE

Tinda masala recipe is a simple and easy vegan Indian style recipe that is cooked in tomato gravy. Some people eat only potatoes and paneer during fast but I will recommend to try this tinda masala.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 8-10 medium round gourds (tinda), peeled and slit
  2. 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  3. 1 teaspoon fennel powder (optional)
  4. 1/4 teaspoon dried mango powder
  5. 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  6. 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  7. 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  8. Salt to taste
  9. 2 tablespoon oil
  10. 1 tsp Ginger paste
  11. 3 medium tomato, puree

Instructions

  1. Combine coriander powder, fennel powder, dried mango powder, turmeric powder, chilli powder, garam masala powder and salt in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Reserve some prepared masala and stuff the remaining masala into the gourds.
  3. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add ginger and tomato and cook till the oil separates.
  4. Reduce heat, add remaining masala and mix well. Add stuffed round gourds, mix, cover and cook for 1-2 minutes. Add some water, mix, cover and cook on low heat till gourds are fully done.
  5. Serve hot garnished with some Garam masala powder and chopped coriander.
