Crispy n puffed chana dal stuffed paratha

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chana dal/Bengal gram dal 1cup
  2. onion 1medium size
  3. Green chilli 2nos
  4. Turmeric powder 1/2tsp
  5. Ginger and garlic(mix chopped)1tbsp
  6. Carom seed 1/2tsp
  7. Onion seed 1/2tsp
  8. Coriander leaves
  9. Hing(pinchful)
  10. Salt(as per taste)
  11. Oil 2tbsp
  12. Wholewheat flour 3cups
  13. Salt 1/2tsp
  14. Turmeric powder (pinchful)
  15. Oil 2tbsp( for softening d dough)
  16. Oil (for making paratha)
  17. Water( for making dough)

Instructions

  1. Clean and soak Bangal gram for 2hrs. After 2hrs drain excess water.
  2. In a pressure cooker, add soaked bengal gram along with 1/4glass of water,pinchful turmeric powder and little salt. Set the cooker and wait for 4-5 whistles come .Switch off the gas and let it cool.
  3. Put oil in hot saucepan .Add carom seeds,onion seeds,hing and let it crackle. Once done add chopped onion,Green chilli and Chopped ginger and garlic. Saute it for 5mins in high flame.
  4. Can add Roasted Jeera powder, Red chili powder,dry mango powder and garam masala powder.
  5. Add pressure cooked Bengal gram into it. Mix it nicely.
  6. Let it cook for 5-7mins till coarse texture and water evaporate.
  7. Add fresh coriander leaves into it.
  8. Keep it aside and let it cool
  9. For making Dough
  10. In Wholewheat flour add 1tbsp of oil, pinchful turmeric powder,Carom seed,onion seed and salt.
  11. Mix it together.Add water and make dough.
  12. Not to soft and not to hard.
  13. For making Paratha
  14. Make small balls out of dough. Divide it into 10-12pieces of balls
  15. Take one Ball. Flat it ,stuff it with above prepared stuffing. Seal it. And roll it with light hand with the help of Rolling pins.
  16. Place it in hot Tawa. Smear oil and make paratha. Serve it with Curd,chutney and pickle or Own choice of veggies.
