Poha Pulao is a simple and tasty recipe prepared with flattened rice and vegetables. You can use any kind of vegetable you want.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Poha 1 cup
  2. 1 beaten egg
  3. cashew nuts a handful
  4. raisins a handful
  5. peanut a handful
  6. grated carrot 1 cup
  7. chopped onion 1 cup
  8. chopped green chilli
  9. salt as per taste
  10. sugar as per taste
  11. garam masala powder 1 teaspoon
  12. turmeric powder 1 teaspoon
  13. white oil 4 tablespoon
  14. Ghee 2 tablespoon
  15. water as needed
  16. cumin seed one teaspoon


  1. First soak poha for 5 minutes.
  2. now drain the water and let Poha dry.
  3. in a kadai heat white oil and fry the beaten egg.
  4. scramble the egg and remove from oil.
  5. Add ghee in excess oil. Temper with cumin seed.
  6. as the seeds splatter add carrots and onion.
  7. Saute until Brown.
  8. now add cashew, peanut, Raisin and green chilli.
  9. again Saute for 2 minutes.
  10. now add salt, sugar, garam masala powder and turmeric powder.
  11. Sprinkle some water to cook the masala very well.
  12. after this add poha.
  13. mix very well and and fried egg.
  14. again mix mix mix.
  15. now turn off the flame and cover for 2 minutes.
  16. Serve hot with ring of onion.
