A very popular maharshtrian street food and my favourite. Since i left india i miss all the street foods so i have started preparing everything at home

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 4 big size boiled potatoes
  2. Coriander leaves chopped
  3. Curry leaves
  4. Sarson seeds
  5. Hing
  6. Turmeric 1/2 teaspoon
  7. Green chilli chopper 1
  8. For vada we will make batter with besan
  9. 1/2 cup besan
  10. 4tbspoon water or till you reach a thick batter
  11. Some salt
  12. Turmeric
  13. For red chutney 1cup fresh coconut
  14. 1/2 cup white sesame seeds
  15. Peanuts 1/4th cup
  16. 4 tablespoons red chilli powder
  17. Garlic 10 cloves


  1. Boil potato 1st mash them and let them cool
  2. In a pan heat oil and add mustard seeds and hing
  3. Add curry leaves and green chilli
  4. Now add the turmeric mix well
  5. Now add masher potatos and fry well
  6. Add salt
  7. Now add chopper coriander
  8. Make a fine paste and let it get cool
  9. Now make chutney
  10. Heat a pan add fresh coconut and sesame seeds and garlic
  11. Fry on low medium flame for 10 minutes
  12. Now let it cool and grind in mixer
  13. Now add the red chilli powder to it
  14. Now we will fry vada in a deep pan
  15. Make round balls coat with besan batter and deep fry on medium flame
  16. Now give a cut to your pav and 1st of all add red chutney than vada than top some green chutney(optional)
  17. Serve hot
