Radish pods,Moongre in Punjabi cuisine is most loved.I love the radishy taste of this vegetable ,so will you.Like all other punjabi sabzis ,aloo shimla mirch,aloo gobhi,aloo baigan, Aloo Moongre ki sabzi ia a winter special one. With minimal ingrdients and seasoning this tastes great.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 150 grams Moongre
  2. 2 small potatoes cut dices
  3. 1 small onion chopped fine
  4. 1 tomato optional
  5. 1tspn turmeric powder
  6. 1/2 tspn red chillipowder
  7. 1/4th tspn garam masala
  8. 1/2 tspn mango powder/aamchur
  9. 2 tablespoon Sunflower oil/mustard oil
  10. salt to taste


  1. Chop Moongre into 1-2inch pieces
  2. rinse clean moongre two three times
  3. feel cut potatoes into dices
  4. Heat oil add chopped onions curry leaves saute
  5. Add tomatoes now though optional
  6. Add all spices,salt and the Aloo Moongre
  7. Add aloo moongre mix well
  8. Cook stirring after every 4-5minutes on slow covered
  9. Remove and serve with roti paratha ,dal as a side dish
