Traditional kadhi with a twist. Made kadhi for the first time and it came out well.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Sour curd 2 cups
  2. 1 tbsp besan (gram flour)
  3. 1 cup water or more
  4. 1 tsp methi dana
  5. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  6. 4-5 curry leaves
  7. 1 tsp salt as per taste
  8. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  9. 1 or 2 dry red chillies/sabut lal mirch
  10. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  11. 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  12. Garam Masala as per choice
  13. 1 tbsp oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl add curd and beat it for 1-2 minutes.
  2. Add besan, water and beat again.
  3. Take a wok, add oil and as it gets hot add methi dana/methi/fenugreek seeds.
  4. Add mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  5. Add turmeric powder and salt.
  6. Add in the curd and besan mixture.
  7. Boil it on a high flame for 1-2 minutes. Then on a low flame for about 30 minutes. Stir in between and check for the required consistency.
  8. In a pan add oil, add dry red chillies, sliced onions and saute it.
  9. Add red chilli powder. Pour this tadka into the kadhi
  10. Soak pakora/bondi in water for 2-3 minutes and add into the kadhi before serving.
  11. Sprinkle garam masala and serve hot.
