ABOUT Vegetable Dosa RECIPE

This kids friendly dosa is made by mixing , puréed spinach, carrot and beetroot to fermented dosa batter

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Basmati rice- 2 cups
  2. Urad dal- 1 cup
  3. Fenugreek seeds- 1/2 tsp
  4. Beetroot puree- 1/2 cup
  5. Spinach puree- 1cup
  6. Carrot puree- 1 cup
  7. salt to taste
  8. Cooked plain rice- 1/2 cup


  1. Soak 2 cups of rice and 1 cup of urad dal along with 1/2 tsp of fenugreek seeds for 6-7 hours.
  2. Grind the soaked ingredients along with 1/2 a cup of cooked plain rice into a smooth and thick batter.
  3. Keep the batter to ferment in a warm place overnight.
  4. Separate the fermented batter into 3 parts.
  5. Puree 1 cup spinach, 1 cup carrot and 1 large beetroot separately.
  6. Add each puree to each batter, add salt as per taste.
  7. Heat dosa tawa and spread a small ladle full of batter as per your design choice, add butter, cook till both sides are done well.
