Ingredients to make Hilsa vuna khichdi (in bengali style)
- 6 pieces of hilsa fish
- 1½ cup gobindobhog rice or any small grain rice
- 1 cup Yellow lentils or moong dal,dry roasted
- 1/2 cup red lentils or masoor dal
- 1" cinnamon stick
- 5-6 nos green cardamom
- 1 nos bay leaf
- 2 nos whole dry red chilli
- 1 big onion, sliced
- 1/2 tsp garlic paste
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 6-7 nos green chillies, splits
- 3 tsp salt or as per taste
- 1/4 tsp sugar
- 4 tbsp mustard oil
- 1/4 tsp clarified butter or ghee
- 4½ cup boiling water
How to make Hilsa vuna khichdi (in bengali style)
My Tip:
This dish can prepare with raw fish ,but it taste better when fry the fish slightly.
