ABOUT Cantonese style steamed fish RECIPE

Light and refreshing take on fish. It is kids friendly , while the grown ups can eat as such and for kids, just the protein can be given.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Fish fillet -200 gms
  2. Spring onion -1 stalk plus 1 teaspoon chopped separately
  3. Ginger- 1 inch piece
  4. soy sauce -1 teaspoon / Low sodium
  5. sugar - 1 to 2 pinches
  6. Salt - As required
  7. Coriander- 1 stalk plus chopped - 1/2 teaspoon
  8. oil - 1 teaspoon
  9. water - 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sauce mixture by mixing the soy sauce, sugar and water. Add salt only if required.
  2. Cut the spring opinions, ginger and coriander to be thin julienne.
  3. Steam the fish for ten mins in medium flame. You may use any steamer set up.
  4. Meanwhile in a wok, heat one teaspoon of oil and fry the ginger. Add the spring onion and fry it. Add coriander and finally pour the sauce mix. Switch off the stove.
  5. Once the fish is cooked, add the additional portion of coriander and spring onion on it and pour the contents of the wok on the fish. Serve immediately.
