Shahi Tukda

Ingredients to make Shahi Tukda

  • 4 bread slices
  • 2 teaspoon butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 pinch of orange food color
  • 3 green cardamoms
  • 1 tablespoon dry fruits, chopped

How to make Shahi Tukda

  1. Apply butter on the bread slices and toast them till they are a little crunchy. Then cut them into 2 pieces each.
  2. In a pan, add sugar, water, food color and green cardamom to make the water syrup a little sticky.
  3. Take a tray and set the bread, pour the sugar syrup on all the bread slices. Keep it aside for 5 to 7 minutes, the bread will soak the sugar syrup.
  4. Garnish chopped dry fruits on the shahi tukda and serve this delicious dessert.

My Tip:

To make the dry fruits soft, you can add them in when the sugar syrup is boiling.
