Added little ragi flour with maida. because of choclate col kids will not know about ragi cake :grinning:

Ragi Chocolate cake

Ingredients to make Ragi Chocolate cake

  • 1 cuo maida
  • 1/2cup ragi
  • 1/2 cup coco powder
  • salt
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup curd
  • Baking powder 1tsp
  • baking soda 1/2tsp
  • Vanilla essence 1tsp
  • Whipped cream 1cup
  • 1/2cup oil

How to make Ragi Chocolate cake

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degree C for 10 mins. Grease a baking pan. Cream the sugar and yogurt until the sugar is completely dissolved. Add baking pwd and baking soda and combine. Leave aside for 3 mts. You will find that bubbles appear. Add vegetable oil , salt and vanilla essence and mix well. Now, slowly add little sifted flour/maida (about a tbsp) at a time n cocoa powder and fold into the wet ingredients. All ingredients should be at room temperature. Bake in preheated oven at 180 degree C for 40 to 45 mins till a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.
  2. Cool the cake for 20-30 mts and then overturn onto a plate. Icing : I bought whipped cream from store and using electric blender did the frosting (u can add col into this) Cut the cake in 2 layers. Now put a layer of icing on it.Next put another layer over it.Keep this in fridge for 2 hrs minimum. After that, coat 1 extra layer of icing n decorate.
