Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 cup fermented idli batter (1 day old)
  2. Salt 1 tsp
  3. Onions 1 cup
  4. Coriander 1/2 cup
  5. Carrot 1/4 cup
  6. Green chillies 4
  7. Coriander powder 1 tbsp
  8. Cumin 1/2 tbsp


  1. Take the idli batter and place it separately.
  2. Chop the onions, green chillies, coriander leaves and carrots. Add these veggies into a mixing bowl, then add salt, cumin and coriander powder mixture. Set it aside for 5 mins so that all the moisture is absorbed.
  3. Heat a thick metal tawa. Pour in a ladleful of batter in the centre, do not spread it like you usually do with dosa batter.
  4. Start from the centre quickly then add the the veggies mixture and sprinkle little by little, you will notice that the batter will spread itself automatically.
  5. Pour 1 tbsp of oil or ghee on the sides and cook it in a medium flame by covering it with a lid for a minute. Then remove the lid.
  6. If the bottom is well cooked, flip it, reduce the heat to low and allow the other side to brown as well.
  7. Once it has browned well. Serve it with any chutney of your choice.
