Shahi Tukda

Ingredients to make Shahi Tukda

  • 4 - 6 slices of bread
  • 1 litres full cream milk
  • 1 tin sweetened Nestle condensed milk
  • ghee for frying
  • 1/2 tsp of cardamom powder
  • 1/2 cup of chopped nuts (pistachios, Almonds)
  • Few strings of saffron

How to make Shahi Tukda

  1. Cut bread slices into squares like 1 slice into 4 squares and keep it aside. Heat milk and bring it to a boil.
  2. When the milk starts boiling add condensed milk and boil it till the milk is reduced to 3/4. Add cardamom powder to it and turn off the gas.
  3. Fry the cut squares of bread into ghee till brown.
  4. Remove it on tissue paper. Arrange fried bread slices on a serving dish. Pour the sweetened milk over it and garnish with chopped nuts and sprinkle some cardamom powder over it. Serve it hot or cold with your favourite flavour of ice cream (optional).

My Tip:

For better results use milk breads instead of normal bread.
