A most popular dish with Konkani Muslims. Kadda Gosht as we call it is a simple but awesome preparation done with just salt and pepper. Potatoes are semi fried and cooked with meat.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1 kg Mutton (thigh-leg) Raan portion medium size pieces
  2. 1/2 kg Onions
  3. 2-3 tblspoon Ginger Garlic paste
  4. 1 1/2 tspn salt or as per taste
  5. 2 tspn pepper
  6. 150 grams Oil
  7. 3 medium size potatoes
  8. 2-3 green chillies (optional)


  1. Wash the Mutton, chop the onions and heat oil in the pressure cooker.
  2. Add the onions when the oil is hot, stir well to let onions turn light brown in colour.
  3. Add ginger garlic paste, salt and pepper. Fry for a while then add in the garam masala followed by the washed and cleaned mutton.
  4. Stir fry for 5 minutes, add water as per choice. Pressure cook for 15 minutes. (If you like, you can also add in the potatoes and fry it with the Mutton).
  5. Semi fry potatoes and keep them ready.
  6. Open the pressure cooker, add potatoes and cook on a low flame for 10 minutes.
  7. Serve with Mint leaves garnish.
