Kadabu is one dish which makes its accompaniments tastier. With the right mix of flavours, Kadabu has always been everyone's favourite. This recipe by Jiya Rohit Makhija is the perfect one to try at home for your family. The Kadabu recipe is very simple and can be made in restaurant style using these ingredients. The time taken while preparing Kadabu is 30 minutes and the time taken for cooking is 30 minutes. This is recipe of Kadabu is perfect to serve 10 people. Ingredients to make Kadabu

  • For the dough : 1 cup rice flour
  • 1 cup thin semolina
  • 1 coconut, grated
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup mixed dry fruits (Almonds, cashewnuts, Raisins)
  • 1 cup maida
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 1/2 cup chutney dal

How to make Kadabu

  1. In a bowl add maida, rice flour, sooji and a pinch of salt. Make a dough with the help of warm water and wrap it with a muslin cloth, keep aside for an hour.
  2. In a kadai, add ghee and fry the dry fruits. Add grated coconut and mix well till the raw smell goes. Add sugar and then add the chutney dal. Mix well.
  3. Keep this mixture aside to cool.
  4. On a rolling board, take a piece/pinch of dough and roll it like a roti.
  5. Place the cooled stuffing in the centre and give a shape of modak or any desired shape.
  6. Steam it for 10 minutes. Serve with pouring ghee on top.

My Tip:

You can fry the kadabu instead of steaming. You can add jaggery in place of sugar.
