Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1/2 cup grated carrots
  2. 1/2 cup grated onions
  3. 1 cup grated cabbage
  4. 1/cup grated cauliflower
  5. 1/2 cup green beans chopped finely
  6. 6 cloves garlic, chopped finely
  7. 3 green chillies, chopped finely
  8. 4 tablespoons of cornflour
  9. 2 tablespoons of white all purpose flour
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Oil to deep fry the Manchurian balls
  12. For the Manchurian gravy
  13. 1 large onion diced
  14. 1 large green capsicum diced
  15. 4 cloves garlic coarsely chopped
  16. 2 green chillies coarsely chopped
  17. Salt to taste
  18. 5 tablespoons of soy sauce
  19. 2 tablespoons of tomato ketchup
  20. 1 tablespoon of white vinegar
  21. 1 Cup water
  22. 2 tablespoons of cornflour
  23. Few spring onion greens for garnish


  1. Mix all the grated vegetables, salt, chopped vegetables, cornflour and flour.
  2. Mix well and set aside for ten minutes
  3. The vegetables will turn mushy by releasing water.
  4. Mix well and make into balls. Arrange them on a plate and deep fry these in hot oil
  5. Once done , in the same hot wok, keep about two tablespoons of the oil and remove the rest.
  6. To this oil add the garlic and green chillies, diced onions and capsicum.
  7. Saute for two minutes and add all the sauces and salt to taste.
  8. Add water and let it come to a boil. Now add the manchurian balls.
  9. Add the cornstarch and stir well until the sauce thickens to your taste.
  10. Turn off the heat serve hot garnished with the chopped spring onion greens.
  11. Eaten best with Chinese fried rice or noodles .
