Achari Chicken

Ingredients to make Achari Chicken

  • chicken pieces 1 kg
  • onion 2 medium size
  • tomato 2
  • capsicum 1 large
  • Green chilli 7-8
  • ginger paste 1 teaspoon
  • garlic paste 1 teaspoon
  • turmeric powder 3/4 teaspoon
  • coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • salt 1 teaspoon
  • oil
  • Achar masala 1 1/2 teaspoon
  • lemon juice 1 teaspoon

How to make Achari Chicken

  1. Take a pot and heat oil and add 1 finely sliced onion and saute till golden brown.
  2. Now add chicken pieces and cook for few minutes then add ginger and garlic paste in it and cook for another 5 minutes.
  3. Now add salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and slit green chillies.
  4. When the water is dried, add diced cut onion and tomatoes and capsicum in it and cook for 10 minutes.
  5. For achar masala, take 1/2 teaspoon each cumin seeds(jeera), fenugreek seeds(methi), fennel(saunf), nigella seeds(kalaunji), red mustard seeds(rai). Roast lightly on tawa and grind coarsely in grinder and add this powder in chicken and mix well.
  6. Now add lemon juice in chicken and switch off the flame.
  7. Serve hot with roti or rice

My Tip:

on the behalf of lemon juice, 1 tablespoon curd can also be add while cooking.
