ABOUT Mooli Ki Sabzi/ Grated Radish Stir-Fry RECIPE

This is really an amazing delicious side dish that is made with grated radish along with it's leaves. Especially in the winter, we get fresh juicy radishes with tender leaves. It tastes awesome with bhakri.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Radish 1 large (grated)
  2. Chopped radish leaves 1 cup
  3. Coriander leaves 1/4 cup
  4. Green chillies 2-3 (slit)
  5. Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
  6. Asafoetida, a generous pinch
  7. Curry leaves, few
  8. Garlic 1 tablespoon (crushed)
  9. Turmeric powder 1/8 teaspoon
  10. Coriander powder 1 teaspoon
  11. Amchoor powder 1/4 teaspoon
  12. Garam masala powder 1/2 teaspoon
  13. Red chilli powder 1/8th teaspoon
  14. Salt to taste
  15. Oil 5-6 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. Wash and scrape the radish. Then grate it coarsely, mix it with salt and set it aside.
  2. Cut the radish greens finely.
  3. When you are ready to make the sabzi, squeeze out the water from the grated radish and mix the greens and coriander leaves together.
  4. In a flat bottomed pan, heat the oil and add in the mustard seeds and asafoetida. When it crackles, add in the curry leaves, garlic and slit green chillies.
  5. Next, add the radish with greens and saute it for a minute. Add in all the spice powders and mix well. Stir fry for half a minute more and turn off the gas.
  6. Serve it with bhakri or rotis.
