ABOUT Chinese Veg Manchurian RECIPE

It's a delicious Chinese dish, which you can eat as a starter or with schezwan rice. It is cooked with cabbage, capsicum, carrot and other veggies.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup maida (white wheat flour)
  2. 1 and 1/2 cup cornflour
  3. 2 tsp garlic, chopped
  4. 1 tsp ginger, chopped
  5. 1 chopped green chilli
  6. 4 middle size onions, chopped
  7. 1 big size shredded capsicum
  8. 2 cup shredded cabbage
  9. 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  10. Black pepper powder 2 tsp
  11. Salt to taste
  12. 1 cup + 1/2 cup water
  13. 1 tsp oil + oil for deep frying
  14. 1 tsp soya sauce
  15. 1 tsp chilli sauce
  16. 1 tbsp tomato sauce
  17. 1/2 cup grated paneer

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, add in the shredded carrots, shredded cabbage, shredded capsicum, chopped onion, salt, black pepper powder, grated paneer, maida and cornflour.
  2. Mix them properly together, then make round ball shapes with a few drops of water.
  3. In a kadhai, heat oil for deep frying. Deep fry these balls on a medium flame till they turn golden brown in colour.
  4. Transfer the balls to a plate and drain the excess oil in a kitchen paper napkin.
  5. Dissolve the left over cornflour in 1/2 cup of water and keep it aside.
  6. Heat 1 tsp of oil in a pan, add in the chopped ginger, chopped garlic and chopped green chillies. Saute it for 1 minute, now add in the soya sauce, tomato sauce, chilli sauce, black pepper powder, a bit of salt and saute it for a few minutes.
  7. Pour in 1 cup of water and boil the mixture for a few minutes. Now add the cornflour mixture to it and mix it properly. Cook it for a few minutes.
  8. Now add the fried balls in and cook for 2 minutes.
  9. Turn off the flame and serve it hot.
