Stuffed Methi Paratha

Ingredients to make Stuffed Methi Paratha

  • For the Filling:
  • methi leaves finely chopped 1/2 cup
  • Besan or gram flour 1/2 cup
  • ginger-Garlic Paste 1 tsp
  • green chillies 2-3 finely chopped
  • cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • asafoetida a pinch
  • Garam masala 1 tsp
  • red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • coriander powder 1 tsp
  • lemon juice 1 tsp
  • sugar 1/2 tsp
  • oil to shallow fry
  • For the dough:-
  • wheat flour 1 cup
  • water as required
  • oil 1 tsp
  • salt a pinch

How to make Stuffed Methi Paratha

  1. Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan, when it's heated up add in the cumin seeds, asafoetida, ginger-garlic paste and saute it for 2 mins.
  2. Now add in the besan and cook it for 2 mins until it becomes pink. Now add in all the spices mentioned above, then add in the methi (fenugreek) leaves.
  3. For the dough, take the flour in a bowl. Add the oil and salt in it and mix it well.
  4. Now add water as needed and make a soft dough. Let it rest for 10 mins by covering with a moist cloth.
  5. To make the paratha, make a small size ball of the dough and flatten it by pressing it gently.
  6. Take 2 tsp of filling and put it in, cover it properly and roll it out in a form of chapati.
  7. Put it on a heated griddle and shallow fry with butter or oil as per your choice.
  8. Serve hot with any chutney or sauce.
