ABOUT Korean Gotgamssam RECIPE

I'm so excited to introduce you to a Korean dessert (or snack) called Gotgamssam. Dried persimmons are delicious by themselves, but if you feel like making a special dessert or snack for yourself or for your guests without spending too much time preparing them, then this is a perfect choice. Dry them in direct sunlight for 2 to 3 days depending upon the temperature at your place.

Ingredients Serving: 7

  1. Hachiya persimmons or Fuyu varieties 3 dried in sunlight for 3 days
  2. Walnuts about 6

Instructions

  1. Slice open the dried persimmons by slitting the sides . Don't cut them all the way through .
  2. Put them side by side with sticky part up .
  3. Add 3 halved walnuts lengthwise , with the wrinkly part down .
  4. Add 3 halved walnuts to fit on the first like lids .
  5. Roll up the persimmons . Cover with plastic wrap and press it together .
  6. Keep in the freezer for about 2-3 hours .
  7. Allow it to thaw for 20 minutes before slicing it up.
  8. Cut into one inch slices and serve chilled to your family and guests.
  9. Keep it in the freezer only if anything is left and use as many times as you wish. But do not forget to freeze it everytime with a plastic sheet wrapped around it securely.
