ABOUT Bread Raisins Pudding with Caramel Syrup RECIPE

A cold lazy day deserves a treat and that would be this warm classic British dessert bread, almonds, raisins pudding.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Bread slices white or whole wheat 6
  2. Sugar 1/2 cup
  3. Almonds chopped and raisins 1/4 cup each
  4. Milk 1 and 1/2 cup
  5. Egg 1

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C.
  2. Grease a loaf tin with butter.
  3. Trim the edges of bread and cut into pieces.
  4. Boil the milk and the sugar.
  5. Let it cool.
  6. When it is lukewarm add the egg.
  7. Arrange the bread piece as a layer in the dish and pour the milk mix and nuts.
  8. Repeat the same way until you use up all the bread slices.
  9. Top with nuts and raisins.
  10. Bake in a water-bath for 45mins to 1hour. Test with a toothpick. If you insert a toothpick and it comes out clean, it is done
  11. Serve the pudding warm with caramel syrup
  12. You can even refrigerate and serve cold.
