This beans poriyal is stir fry beans with fresh coconut. side dish for roti and rice

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 250 gms beans cut finely
  2. 2 tbsp fresh grated coconut
  3. Seasoning
  4. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  5. 1/2 tsp udad dal
  6. 1/2 tsp chana dal
  7. 2 red chilli
  8. 1 green chilli
  9. curry leaves
  10. Coriander leaves
  11. 1 tbsp oil
  12. Asafoetida
  13. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  14. Salt to taste


  1. Take a pan,add oil ,put the seasoning. When done ,add asafoetida,curry leaves
  2. Add beans, add turmeric and salt
  3. Sprinkle little water cover and cook for till done
  4. Add little sugar,it allows to retain the green color
  5. Don't over cook
  6. Add grated coconut and stir and after 2 minutes remove and serve
