Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Potatoes - 3, medium sized
  2. Cauliflower - 1 , cut into florets
  3. Onion - 2, finely chopped
  4. Tomatoes - 2, finely chopped
  5. Ginger - finely chopped - 2 tsp
  6. Garlic - finely chopped - 2 tsp
  7. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  8. Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  9. Coriander powder - 1 1/2 tsp
  10. Cumin seed powder - 1 tsp
  11. Garam Masala Powder - 1 tsp
  12. Salt to taste
  13. Sugar - 1/2 tsp
  14. Oil for tempering
  15. Cumin Seeds - 1 Tsp


  1. To clean the cauliflower bring water to a boil , add a little turmeric powder and a small pinch of salt and add the cauliflower florets to it.
  2. Turn off the heat after a couple of minutes and transfer the florets to a bowl of cold water. This would stop the florets from cooking further.
  3. Heat some oil in a pan and add the cumin seeds.
  4. Add the onions and a pinch of sugar and cook until the onions become translucent.
  5. Add the tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin seed powder, salt and cook until the tomatoes become mushy.
  6. Add the cleaned and chopped potatoes, cover and cook until the potatoes are almost done.
  7. Add the cauliflower florets, mix well and let it cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  8. Finally add the garam masala powder and mix well. Let it cook for a minute longer.
  9. Turn off the heat and serve hot with rice or roti.
