Sponge Toffee(Honey comb)

Ingredients to make Sponge Toffee(Honey comb)

  • 160 gms caster sugar
  • 80 grm golden syrup
  • 2 tbsp soda bicarbonate
  • butter for greasing

How to make Sponge Toffee(Honey comb)

  1. Line a round pan with butter paper and grease it
  2. Put sugar and golden syrup in a deep pan and heat gently until melted.now in high flame boil it quickly and continue to stir until golden brown in colour.
  3. The colour should be brown and thick but the sugar should not burn
  4. Now switch off the gas and add soda bicarbonate in it and then stir quickly for a few seconds as it will create foam and fizz
  5. Carefully pour it into a pan which is already readied with butter paper and leave it to set and cool.
  6. When it sets , crack the honey comb into bite sized chunks.
  7. Serve it in fondue bowl with hot chocolate.

My Tip:

At the time of adding soda bicarbonate,sugar syrup should be of proper consistency otherwise it will not set properly.
