ABOUT Atta idiyappam RECIPE

Healthy alternate for rice idiyappam.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Atta 1cup
  2. Rice flour 1/4cup
  3. Water as required
  4. Oil 2 tsp
  5. Sugar 2 tsp
  6. Coconut 3 tsp
  7. Ghee 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. 1.Dry roast atta in medium flame till aroma comes without burning the atta flour. 2.Switch off the flame and to this add the rice flour , a pinch of salt and mix well.
  2. 3.Boil water and keep adding to the flour little by little till a homogeneous mix is got. 4.A spatula can be used to mix as the water is hot.
  3. 5.Cover and rest it for 5 mins. 6.Now add 2tsp oil and knead the dough mix till it's very soft. 7.Fill the mix in murukku achu using the idiappam holes plate. 8.Squeeze it in oil greased idly plates and steam cook for 7 mins.
  4. 9.Take out the atta idiappam and add sugar, grated coconut and a drizzle of ghee when the idiappam is still hot. 10. Mix well using a fork.
