Green peas are one of the most favourite winter vegetables that are consumed, so this is a simple peas pulao which can be served with just some raita or a simple curry.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Rice 1 cup
  2. Matar 2 cups
  3. Ghee 1 tbspn
  4. Salt 1 tsp
  5. Turmeric powder [a pinch]
  6. jeera 1/2 tsp
  7. Asafoetida 1/2 tsp
  8. Garam masala powder 2 tsp
  9. Red chilli powder [a pinch]


  1. Soak the rice in water for about 30 minutes. wash and drain them properly.
  2. Heat a heavy bottomed kadhai with some ghee.
  3. Add the cumin seeds and the asafoetida.
  4. Lower the flame add all the powdered masalas, salt and cook for few minutes.
  5. Then add the green peas and give it a good stir, add the soaked & drained rice.
  6. Add 2 cups of water and Cover the vessel with a lid and cook for 10 minutes.
  7. R2moved the lid and cook for another 5 minutes.
  8. Switch off the flame and fluff up the rice with a fork. The pulao is ready to be served.
