About Matar Chawal Recipe

A very simple recipe of Rice combined with peas.

Matar Chawal

Ingredients to make Matar Chawal

  • Basmati rice 1/2 kg
  • peas 200 gms
  • 1 onion thinly sliced
  • green chillies 2 finely chopped
  • ginger and garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Refined oil 2 tbsp
  • salt as per taste
  • water 700 ml

How to make Matar Chawal

  1. Wash and soak rice for 10 minutes.
  2. Wash peas (fresh /frozen)
  3. Heat oil and brown the sliced onions add to it ginger and garlic paste.
  4. Add the rice and peas. Add green chillies. Mix well and cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Add water and salt.
  6. Let it come to a boil.
  7. Cover the pressure cooker and coo
