POMFRET FRY

Ingredients to make POMFRET FRY

  • 2 medium sized Pomfret fish
  • 1 cup of Green coriander
  • 5-6 cloves of garlic
  • 2 green chillies
  • salt to taste and for cleaning fish
  • 1 teaspoon kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon coriander powder
  • 2 tablespoon lime juice
  • 3 tablespoon gram flour/besan
  • oil for frying
  • Shredded cabbage and carrots to serve

How to make POMFRET FRY

  1. Rub about 1 tablespoon salt on both the fish and wash them under running water. Pat dry and make 3-4 slits on the fleshy part.
  2. Now sprinkle some salt and turmeric powder. Rub it all over the fish and set aside.
  3. Grind the green coriander, garlic and green chillies to a fine paste using very little water
  4. In a large mixing bowl, tale the coriander paste. To this add red chilli powder, coriander powder some salt, gram flour and lime juice. Mix well adding 1 tablespoon water
  5. Now coat the fish with this marinate and set aside for 15 minutes
  6. Heat a shallow fry pan. Add 2 tablespoon oil and fry the fish on medium flame till its crisp and browned on either side.
  7. Serve with shredded cabbage and carrots
