A shallow fried fish recipe using pomfret fish and basic spices

2 medium sized Pomfret fish
1 cup of Green coriander
5-6 cloves of garlic
2 green chillies
salt to taste and for cleaning fish
1 teaspoon kashmiri red chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 tablespoon coriander powder
2 tablespoon lime juice
3 tablespoon gram flour/besan
oil for frying
Shredded cabbage and carrots to serve
Instructions
Rub about 1 tablespoon salt on both the fish and wash them under running water. Pat dry and make 3-4 slits on the fleshy part.
Now sprinkle some salt and turmeric powder. Rub it all over the fish and set aside.
Grind the green coriander, garlic and green chillies to a fine paste using very little water
In a large mixing bowl, tale the coriander paste. To this add red chilli powder, coriander powder some salt, gram flour and lime juice. Mix well adding 1 tablespoon water
Now coat the fish with this marinate and set aside for 15 minutes
Heat a shallow fry pan. Add 2 tablespoon oil and fry the fish on medium flame till its crisp and browned on either side.
Serve with shredded cabbage and carrots
