ABOUT Mutton Do Pyaasa RECIPE

Mutton cooked in two types of onions.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Mutton 1/2kg
  2. Onions 4
  3. Ginger garlic paste 4 tbsp
  4. Whole masala ......
  5. Pepper corns 8-10
  6. Cloves 7-8
  7. Cinnamon 1-2 small sticks
  8. Green Cardamom 4-5
  9. Black cardamom (badi ilaichi)2-3
  10. Coriander powder 2tsp
  11. Cummin powder 2 tsp
  12. Chilli powder 2tsp (According to taste )
  13. Turmeric powder 1tsp
  14. Tomatoes 2 (chopped fine
  15. Curdles 2 tbsp
  16. Salt to taste
  17. Coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Chop 2 onions finely. Chop remaining 2 onions lengthwise and deep fry them. Keep aside.
  2. Heat 2Tblsps oil. Add whole spices. Saute for 1min.
  3. Add finely chopped onions and saute till the colour changes to light brown.
  4. Add ginger garlic paste
  5. Add mutton and saute till the colour changes.
  6. Add dry powders and mix well
  7. Add curd and saute till the oil separates
  8. Add tomatoes and saute till the tomatoes are cooked
  9. Add water and salt
  10. Cook on low flame till the mutton is cooked
  11. Garnish with coriander leaves
