Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. sugar 1 cup
  2. Whole Wheat Flour 1 cup
  3. Bananas (ripe) 3 to 4
  4. Baking powder 1.5 tsp
  5. Cinnamon powder 0.5 tsp
  6. Eggs 2
  7. Butter 100gm
  8. Raisins and walnuts optional 4 tbsp


  1. Melt 1 tsp of sugar in a pan till golden brown
  2. Slice a banana and arrange the slices on the bottom of the loaf pan
  3. Pour the caramelized sugar on top and let it set
  4. Preheat the oven at 180 c
  5. Sift flour, baking powder and cinnamon powder together
  6. Dry roast walnuts if you are using them
  7. Soften the butter and add rest of the sugar. Beat it till its fluffy .
  8. Mash the remaining bananas and add to this mixture. Whisk again till incorporated
  9. Gently fold in flour mixture
  10. Mix well but not too much
  11. Pour over caramelized bananas in the loaf tin
  12. Bake for 45 to 50 mins or till toothpick comes out clean
  13. After the loaf is baked, gently demould while its still warm.
  14. Enjoy with a cup of coffee
