Saayi Bhaji is a traditional sindhi dish which compliments with rice, pulao or sweet rice.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 250 gms palak
  2. 2 onions
  3. Soaked chana daal 1 small cup
  4. 2 tomatoes
  5. 1 green chilly
  6. 1+1 tblspn oil
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Red chilly powder 1 tsp
  9. Dhaniya powder 1 tsp
  10. Haldi pinch off
  11. Garlic 8-10 flakes finely chopped


  1. Wash n chop palak , onion.
  2. Take oil in cooker.
  3. Add chopped onions n cook till light brown.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes, Palak, soaked daal n all spices.
  5. Mix well. In few time Palak will leave water.
  6. Cook till is dries n oil starts separate. Then add 2 cups water n close the lid. Cook on high flame till 2 whistles. Then cook for 10 mins on low flame.
  7. After than mash the daal Palak with help of wooden masher.
  8. Take oil in tadka pan add chopped garlic. Give tadka to saayi bhaji. Mix well.
  9. Saayi bhaji ready. Serve with rice, pulao or sweet rice.
