Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 2 cup - Green moong dal and 1/4 cup chana dal, soaked for 2 hours
  2. A pinch of asafoetida (hing)
  3. Salt to taste
  4. 2 pinches - Sugar
  5. 1 1/2 tsp - Green chilli and ginger paste
  6. 8 tbsp - Crumbled paneer
  7. 2 tbsp - Finely chopped coriander
  8. 2 tsp - Dried pudina powder
  9. 1 tsp - Chaat masala
  10. 1 - Tomato, finely chopped
  11. 1 - Medium onion, finely chopped
  12. 1 - Small capsicum, finely chopped
  13. 1/4 tsp- Extra virgin olive oil for cooking (for each chilla)


  1. Combine the moong and chana dal along with little water and blend in a mixer till smooth.
  2. Transfer it to a bowl, add the salt, asafoetida, sugar and green chilli-ginger paste and mix well to get a lump free batter.
  3. For filling : Mix paneer, onions, capsicum, tomato, salt, chaat masala and mint powder.
  4. Heat ¼ tsp of oil in a tava and pour a ladle full of the batter and spread it evenly to make a thin round of 6 inches. Once it cooks and turns light brown on one side flip and cook from other side also.
  5. Sprinkle 2 tbsp paneer mixture and fold the chilla and cook on a medium flame.
  6. Repeat with the remaining ingredients to make more chilas
  7. Serve hot with ketchup or green chutney or coconut chutney.
