ABOUT Instant Poha Idli RECIPE

It is very nutritious and healthy recipe, prepared in less than 20 minutes and yummy too.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Poha 1 cup
  2. Semolina 1/2 cup
  3. Gram flour 4 tablespoons
  4. Curd 1 cup
  5. lemon juice 1 tablespoon
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Green chilli 2 or to taste
  8. Black pepper powder 1 teaspoon
  9. Sugar 2 tablespoons
  10. Green peas boiled 1/4 cup
  11. Carrot grated 1
  12. Coriander leaves 2 tablespoons
  13. ENO fruit salt 1 pouch
  14. For Tempering: Oil 1 tablespoon
  15. Asfetoida 1 teaspoon
  16. Curry leaves 4

Instructions

  1. Put curd, Poha, semolina, sugar, salt , lemon juice and gram flour into a mixer and make a fine paste. If needed add water for making idli batter of a proper consistency. Set aside for 10 minutes. Add pepper powder, vegetables and mix well.
  2. Add water into steamer and when it begins to boil add ENO to the batter, mix well and immediately pour the batter into idli molds.
  3. Put it into the steamer and steam for 10 minutes or till it is done.
  4. Remove these from steamer to cool. Once cool, arrange in a serving plate.
  5. Now add oil in a hot pan for tempering. Put mustard seeds and asafoetida into it. Add slit green chilli and curry leaves. When the spices splutter pour the tempering over idlis.
  6. Serve with chutney of your choice.
