ABOUT Besan Ka Chilla RECIPE

A super simple and super healthy breakfast that is loaded with veggies.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Besan( Gram flour) - 1 cup
  2. Curd - 2 tbsp
  3. Finely chopped veggies ( I used tomatoes, carrots, and capsicum) - 1/2 cup
  4. Ginger, finely chopped - 1 tsp
  5. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  6. Red Chilly powder - 1 tsp
  7. Garam Masala Powder - 1 tsp
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Green chillies - 2 , finely chopped
  10. Oil - 2 tsp


  1. In a bowl, mix together all the ingredients except the curd and oil. First the spices, then the veggies. Add curd to this mixture and mix properly to make a batter of pouring consistency. Add water if required.
  2. Let this batter sit for a good 5 minutes. Heat a tava and pour a spoonful of the batter and spread it evenly. Add the a little oil to the sides and let it cook for one minute.
  3. Flip it over and let the other side cook for one minute. Once done, take it off the heat and serve it ketchup or chutney or pickle of your choice.
