ABOUT Spinach Garlic And Chilli Pickle RECIPE

Spinach, garlic and chilli pickle is one of my favorites. It has a unique taste and is very healthy too.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For Spinach paste : 1 bunch - Spinach
  2. 1 - Garlic bulb
  3. 3-4 - Green chilies
  4. 1 tsp - Lemon juice
  5. 2 Pinch - Turmeric powder
  6. For Pickle : 1 garlic bulb
  7. 4-5 - Whole green chilies, slit
  8. For pickle powder : 1/4 tsp black mustard powder, 1/4 tsp fenugreek powder, 1/4 tsp fennel powder, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1/5 tsp asefotida powder
  9. Whole ingredients ; 1/4 tsp Onion seeds, 1/4 tsp Yellow mustard seeds
  10. 3-4 tsp - White vinegar
  11. 3/4 Cup - Oil
  12. Salt to taste


  1. Remove the stems and wash spinach in running water, chop and keep aside.
  2. Boil water in pan add chopped spinach and after 2-3 min quickly remove and dip in normal or cold water. Strain the water and keep it aside.
  3. Heat oil in pan, add garlic, when it turns light brown add green chilies and after a min add blanched spinach and saute it for 2 min then add turmeric, lemon juice and salt. Now switch off the gas and keep aside to cool. When it cools transfer it in a mixer jar and make a coarse paste.
  4. In a bowl take slit green chilies and garlic, add all the seed powders, turmeric, asafoetida and whole ingredients, mix well
  5. Now add vinegar and salt and mix well. Heat oil in a pan, turn off the gas and add pickle in this hot oil. Mix well and keep aside to cool. Fill it in clean jar and serve when required.
