Ingredients to make Dal fry(restaurant style)

  • Tuvar daal-1/2 cup
  • Mung dal-1 tbsp
  • garlic-10 cloves
  • ginger-1 inch
  • onion-1 medium
  • Green chilli-1
  • ghee-1 tbsp
  • cumin Seeds-1 tsp
  • asafoetida-1 pinch
  • salt
  • Garam masala-1/2 tsp
  • Kasuri methi-1/4 tsp
  • lemon juice-1 tsp
  • Red chillies-2
  • coriander for garnishing

How to make Dal fry(restaurant style)

  1. Wash and soak the dals for 1 hour.
  2. Boil in cooker till soft.
  3. Now take a pan. Heat ghee in it.
  4. Add cumin seeds and asafoetida. Add the red chillies.
  5. Now add chopped onions and crushed ginger garlic and green chilli .
  6. Saute till onions become translucent.
  7. Now add tomatoes and cook till soft. Add all dry spices and mix.
  8. Now add the boiled dal.
  9. Add a cup of water if dal is too thick. Adjust consistency by adding more water if required.
  10. Boil for 3 to 4 minutes and it's ready to serve with rice or roti.
