Sooji Wada

Ingredients to make Sooji Wada

  • Sooji(semolina) 1 cup
  • curd 1/2 cup
  • salt as per taste
  • sugar 1tsp
  • onion 1 large
  • coriander 1tbsp
  • curry leaves 8-10 chopped
  • jeera powder 1tsp
  • Green chilli as per taste
  • baking soda 1 tsp (optional)
  • Garam masala pinch
  • oil for frying

How to make Sooji Wada

  1. Take a bowl,add sooji.
  2. Whisk the curd and add in to sooji and mix well and keep aside.
  3. Now chopped onion,coriander,few curry leaves and add in to sooji
  4. After this add salt,chilli,jeera powder,sugar ,garam masala and mix gently.
  5. We have to knead it like semi dough ,it should not be thin.
  6. Sooji will soak the curd fast so add little little water and make it like smooth dough and keep aside for 5-10 minutes.
  7. Now heat the oil in a pan on medium flame.
  8. Take the dough on your hand and make a hole in between like wada and fry in oil on medium low flame till folden brown.
  9. Enjoy with any chutney.

My Tip:

Sooji soaks water so add curd and water carefully. Dough should not be thin. Fry on medium heat.
