Delicious home made mango pickle,to be made during the summer season and to be enjoyed for the rest of the year.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Raw mango 1/2kg
  2. Mustard oil 1cup
  3. Saunf [fennel seeds] 2tbsp
  4. Methi [fenugreek] 1tbsp
  5. Salt 3tsp
  6. Turmeric powder 2tsp
  7. Red chilli powder 2tbsp
  8. Rai [mustard seeds] 2tsp
  9. Kalonji [nigella seeds] 2tsp


  1. Heat mustard oil till it starts to smoke
  2. Let it cool
  3. Cut mangoes into desired shape after washing and drying them into large bowl
  4. Add salt turmeric powder and all the spices mentioned.
  5. When oil is cold enough, add half in mix.keep bowl in sun for 3-4days .transfer it to glass jar.add rest of oil so that mangoes are immersed in oil.
  6. Keep it for 12-15days in sun.
