Mung dal with soya

Ingredients to make Mung dal with soya

  • Masur dal 1 cup
  • Soya chunks 1 cup
  • salt to taste
  • onion 1 small chopped
  • Green chiilies 3
  • tomato 1 chopped
  • ginger garluc paste 1 tsp
  • bay leaf 1
  • red chilli 1
  • turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • for the tempering :
  • ghee 1 tbsp
  • cumin seeds -1 tsp
  • garlic cloves - 1/2 tsp chopped
  • asfaoetida [1 pinch]

How to make Mung dal with soya

  1. Boil dal with turmeric powder, salt and 2 green chilies
  2. Boil and drain soya chunks , keep aside
  3. In a pan add oil. Add bay leaf ,red chilli
  4. Add ginger garlic paste and onion. Fry onion till golden brown.
  5. Add tomato. Add turmeric powder and soya. mix well
  6. Add salt and dal. And 1/2 cup water. Cook till done.
  7. For the tadka, heat some ghee in a pan, add the cumin seeds, cloves , asafoetida . Once they smell, add this to the dal, give it a mix and serve.
