ABOUT Mung dal with soya RECIPE

This is a protein packed dal with low calories that can be served with some roti or rice.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Masur dal 1 cup
  2. Soya chunks 1 cup
  3. Salt to taste
  4. Onion 1 small chopped
  5. Green chiilies 3
  6. Tomato 1 chopped
  7. Ginger garluc paste 1 tsp
  8. Bay leaf 1
  9. Red chilli 1
  10. Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  11. for the tempering :
  12. ghee 1 tbsp
  13. cumin seeds -1 tsp
  14. garlic cloves - 1/2 tsp chopped
  15. asfaoetida [1 pinch]

Instructions

  1. Boil dal with turmeric powder, salt and 2 green chilies
  2. Boil and drain soya chunks , keep aside
  3. In a pan add oil. Add bay leaf ,red chilli
  4. Add ginger garlic paste and onion. Fry onion till golden brown.
  5. Add tomato. Add turmeric powder and soya. mix well
  6. Add salt and dal. And 1/2 cup water. Cook till done.
  7. For the tadka, heat some ghee in a pan, add the cumin seeds, cloves , asafoetida . Once they smell, add this to the dal, give it a mix and serve.
