Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Katla fish 4 pieces
  2. 1 big sized onion paste
  3. 1 tablespoon ginger paste
  4. 1 tablespoon garlic paste
  5. 2 tablespoons curd
  6. Salt as per required
  7. 2 teaspoons turmeric powder
  8. 1 1/2 tablespoon red chilli powder
  9. 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  10. 1 medium sized tomato puree
  11. 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  12. Mustard oil
  13. 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  14. 2-3 cinnamon sticks
  15. Pinch of sugar
  16. 1 teaspoon ghee


  1. Marinate the fish with salt and turmeric powder.
  2. Heat the mustard oil in a pan and fry the fish pieces and keep aside.
  3. In the same pan and same oil add cumin seeds, cinnamon stick.
  4. Add onion and ginger garlic paste. Mix.
  5. Add tomato puree and mix.
  6. Add beaten curd and salt and mix very well.
  7. Now add all the spices and hot water.
  8. After few minutes add fried fishes gently and cover for some times.
  9. When it's done spread ghee and garam masala powder.
