ABOUT Tart Doodhi Halwa RECIPE

It is a innovative, fusion recipe. Tart, made out of biscuits and stuffed with bottle gourd/doodhi halwa.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Ingredients for halwa---
  2. 1small bottlegourd peeled and grated
  3. 1/2 litre of milk
  4. 1/2 cup sugar approximately or to taste
  5. 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  6. dry fruits of your choice
  7. ingredients for tart --------
  8. 7-8 digestive biscuits (I preferred marie)
  9. 2 teaspoon unsalted butter at room temperature
  10. some kesar strands for garnish
  11. colorful heart sprinklers for garnish

Instructions

  1. Process of halwa------
  2. Add milk to a pan and keep for boiling.
  3. Add grated bottle gourd to milk, mix and let it boil on medium flame.
  4. Let the liquid from it evaporate till the bottle gourd gets cooked.
  5. Add sugar, mix cardamom powder, keep on stirring for sometime till the sugar dissolves, the water evaporates and it becomes thick like a dough.
  6. Add dry fruits, switch off the flame and let it cool completely.
  7. Grind biscuit, add butter and grind one more time.
  8. Take tart mould and press biscuits mixture all over with the back of a spoon.
  9. After pressing it will become like this and then keep in refrigerator for 1/2 an hour.
  10. Demould it and add halwa in it and garnish as per your choice.
